Mr Alexander Maratos - Exercise Physiologist

Comac CollingsAlex studied a Bachelor of Exercise Science at RMIT before completing a Masters in Clinical Exercise Science and Rehabilitation at Victoria University and has attained accreditation as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist.

Alex has experience in a clinical setting working with a variety of patients from metabolic conditions, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurological retraining and a variety of other conditions with a great focus on treating the patient holistically.

At all levels of health Alex is confident he can assist his patients, to reach their health goals and potential.

Alex has worked with a diverse range of conditions and people, including:

  • Chronic and short term joint injuries (ie. shoulders, back, hips, knees and feet injuries)
  • Osteoporosis
  • Arthritis (osteo & Rheumatoid)
  • Neurological conditions (ie. Brain & spinal cord injuries, MS, Spina Bifida)

Initial assessments with Alex will focus heavily on both patient history and goals in addition to posture, movements and/or cardiorespiratory testing based on each patients individual needs. Following this, Alex will be able to provide the relevant Exercise Therapy or Program specific to the individual. Alex is also available for off-site services at local gyms, hydrotherapy pools and workplaces.

Alex currently plays cricket in the summer, having played representative cricket at a younger age in Victoria, and focuses his own training around general health and well-being.
